What is a backorder?
"Backorder" means that one or more of the items on your order are currently out of stock.
We will go ahead and ship the merchandise that is in stock, and will backorder the rest for 60 days unless you request to have the order held for longer, or until the item is available. You can request to have your order held longer by calling (1-609-296-1300) or emailing us. As soon as the item is in stock, we will pack and ship it to you. You will not be charged for backordered items until they are processed to ship.
Your credit card is charged when the backordered item is shipped. If your order contains both in-stock and backordered items, you will initially be charged only for the in-stock portion of your order. The backordered item or items is charged to your account as it is shipped.
We do not charge additional shipping for backordered items. However, your total shipping charge may be divided between the in stock merchandise and out of stock merchandise.
Unfortunately, we are unable to backorder items that are less than $5. To place these items on backorder, you will have to select multiple items to assure that the price is over $5.
Penn Parts Backorders:
If a Penn reel part is out of stock due to an inventory error (this happens rarely), we will contact you about it's status before processing the order.
If it is decided to put it on backorder status, we will not bill for the item until it comes in. An additional shipping fee, without a handling charge, may apply.
Depending upon what the part is, backordering may not be an option.
Out of stock items on orders shipping outside the U.S. cannot be backordered.
