To change the 50S to left hand.
Remove end plate. Remove 2 springs. Bend springs in opposite radius. Bend flang 180° so that it mounts in the opposite direction. Then turn locks around 180°.

Move gear plate and handle to left side. Put spool back in, leave reel on fishing pole and mount in a vise. Turn the handle to turn the spool. Hold hacksaw on gear to cut off gear teeth ring. Turn gear ring over and remount using aluminum JB Weld. Let dry and then drill and install dowl pins. Remover gear and plate before installing JB Weld.

Please note - proceed with this modification at your own risk. ~ Staff at Scott's MysticParts.com
